A new range of Italian inspired pizza sandwiches hits Crust stores to lure the lunchtime workforce

Move over gourmet sandwiches, a new lunch order is set to takeover the office crowd! Crust Pizza is taking a concerted crack at the lunchtime trade with the introduction of its Piadina sandwiches, inspired by traditional Italian street food and capitalising on an online viral trend that has seen over 21 million views.

The innovative alternative to the everyday sandwich, Crust Lunch Piadina is part pizza, part sandwich, and uses its signature pizza dough to envelop several delicious, crave worthy fillings that it serves with lip-smacking dipping sauces.

The newly introduced lunch enticement for mid-day diners comes in five fresh varieties that are uniquely hand folded to order including:

  • Crust Deli (Prosciutto, bocconcini, mortadella, cucumber, pickled red onion, mixed leaves and truffle aioli)
  • Pepperoni Caprese (Pepperoni, bocconcini, tomato, fresh baby spinach, pesto aioli & hot honey)
  • Sicilian Chicken (House roasted chicken, roasted green capsicum, pickled red onion, bocconcini, garlic aioli, mixed leaves and lemon wedge)
  • Garlic Lamb & Feta (House roasted mediterranean lamb, feta, garlic aioli, cucumber, mixed leaves, tomato and lemon wedge)
  • Beef Brisket Dip (Slow cooked beef brisket, sharp swiss cheese, caramelised onion, shallots & garlic aioli. Served with house made jus)

Launching today across Crust Pizza’s more than 130 stores nationwide, Crust Pizza’s Lunch Piadina is the latest in a line of exciting, new product innovations by the provider who is known for its commitment to premium ingredients and a desire to develop unique flavour combos.

Crust Pizza’s Marketing Manager, Zak Marr, said the launch of Lunch Piadina is extremely exciting not only for loyal customers, but for the brand’s hard working Franchise Partners who are ready to elevate their offer with something fresh and innovative.
