Brumby’s Bakery Wins QSR Media Award for Best Employee Recognition Program
Brumby’s Bakery is proud to announce its recent win at the QSR Media Awards for Best Employee Recognition Program, thanks to the success of its “Handcrafted by Local Bakers” campaign. This award highlights the brand’s dedication to celebrating and recognizing the talents of its bakers across Australia.
The “Handcrafted by Local Bakers” campaign, which ran from April to June 2024, was designed to motivate, engage, and recognize employees by providing them with a platform to showcase their unique recipes and baking skills. Prior to the campaign launch, all bakers, including apprentices, regardless of their tenure or location, were invited to submit their own recipes in three categories: bread, sweet, and savoury. This inclusive approach ensured that everyone had an equal opportunity to participate and be recognized. The selection of winners was based on the quality and creativity of their recipes.
Winners were rewarded not only with cash prizes but also had their winning creations named after them and sold in Brumby’s stores nationwide as part of the Handcrafted by Local Bakers campaign. These winning products included:
- Elijah’s Mega Meaty BBQ Twist
- Matt’s Bacon & Egg Brekkie Danish and Deluxe Caramel Cupcake
- Kartekka’s Sweet Potato, Rosemary & Parmesan Pane De Casa
To put the spotlight on our major prize winners, these three bakers were pictured throughout in store point-of-sale materials, on the Brumby’s website, across digital marketing channels and in social media and radio advertisements.

It was a wonderful opportunity to put the spotlight on them and showcase their incredible talents to a national audience.
