Franchisee Finalists in the National Retail Awards
Retail Food Group (RFG) is proud to announce several finalists in the National Retail Awards.
Lara and Scott Russell (Brumby’s Bulimba), Michelle Rechichi (Crust Mt Lawley) and Greg Stevens (Michel’s Toronto), are all in the running to take home the coveted Franchisee of the Year Award.
The prestigious gala event hosted by the National Retail Association (NRA) seeks to highlight the extraordinary efforts of both individuals and businesses who excel, inspire others and continue to innovate across the retail sector.
Brumby’s General Manager David Dinnes says that the finalists are great ambassadors within their respective brands and that each deserves special mention for their contribution to the industry.
“The franchising sector is made up of some 80,000 businesses and employs over 470,000 people which each year contributes to this $150 billion dollar industry.”
“Franchising is driven by professionals like Greg and Annie, Lara and Scott, and Michelle and Joe, with each taking great pride in training their staff to be better connected with their customers and community,” says David.
The achievements over the last 12 months from each franchise partner have been significant with each demonstrating steadfast service.
Greg and Annie are no strangers to the Awards – in 2016 the duo took out several categories including the Franchisee of the Year Award and beat out major retailers including David Jones and Myer to take the crown for the Retailer of the Year Award.
At Brumby’s Bulimba, Lara and Scott have been turning heads with their latest store refurb and earlier this year, Australians woke up to them as they were touted as the makers of the nation’s best lamington by Channel 7’s Sunrise.
Over in Western Australia, Michelle and Joe Rechichi have been innovating alongside local high school students and galleries to turn pizza into artwork with funds going towards supporting local organisations.
“I’d like to congratulate all of our finalists for their tireless efforts and for inspiring the whole franchise network to showcase their brands at every opportunity.”
The category winners will be announced at the gala event to be held in Sydney this September.
